CUEF is recognized as an official testing centre by France Education International for exams such as the DELF/DALF or TCF, students can prepare for and take certified French language tests directly on site.

As a CUEF student, you can use all University Grenoble Alpes (UGA) cafeterias and libraries. The campus supports an active lifestyle with sports programs offering more than 60 activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and swimming. You will also find flat bike paths, student association rooms, and a university cultural service with regular sportive and cultural activities.

This intensive program leads to a Diplôme Universitaire d’Études Françaises (DUEF) and can serve as a direct pathway to undergraduate or graduate studies in France.
At the beginner level, students learn essential grammar, vocabulary, and concepts of French, along with classes in French literature, local history, theater, civilization, and political life. These courses help students gain a strong understanding of both the language and culture.
From the B2 level onward, the focus shifts to advanced academic writing, business French, and university lecture skills to prepare students for further studies in France. At this stage, students can also take courses in other departments at Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) with local French students.

Students who need a visa to study in France should begin the application process about 4 to 6 months before the course start date. This allows enough time to apply to your chosen school, receive an acceptance letter, secure accommodation, and complete the visa process smoothly. Starting early also ensures you have time to prepare financial documents, schedule and attend your visa appointment, and receive your visa before your planned departure.
Yes. You must be at least 18 years old to attend CUEF courses and take exams. For the DUEF program, you must also demonstrate at least a A2 level of French on the placement test.
Yes, students receive official documents when they finish their program at CUEF.
* For the DUEF program, students receive a Diplôme Universitaire d’Etudes Françaises (DUEF) that matches the level they reached during the semester, as long as they pass the final exams.
* For other courses, students get a completion certificate. This certificate shows their French level based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
After you register, you will take an online placement test so the school can place you in a group that matches your level. You may also have an oral interview, either in person or on Zoom. During the first two days of the course, you will take part in activities that help you find the right group for your skills.
Yes. CUEF has a dedicated animation team that organizes monthly cultural and sporting activities. These include city discovery rallies, guided museum visits, theater workshops, and outdoor excursions into the Alps, such as skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
