Les Ateliers FL is a network of French language schools with locations in Paris, Lyon, Nice, Bordeaux, and Biarritz. Opened in 2019, the Lyon school is the newest addition to the network. It is a small school with a close-knit team where you’ll feel at home and well supported. This intimate size allows the school to provide a warm and highly supportive environment, where each student is assigned a dedicated advisor during their stay. You’ll feel close to your teachers, classmates, and school staff.

Lyon is the third-largest city in France, after Paris and Marseille. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its rich history and beautiful architecture. The city is considered the capital of French gastronomy and is home to the world-famous chef Paul Bocuse. From Lyon, the best of France is within easy reach. The city is close to the Alps, just two and a half hours from Paris, and only one hour from Marseille and the Mediterranean Sea by train.

Course Introduction

This intensive programme is designed for students seeking rapid progress in French. It covers all four main language skills: speaking, reading, writing, and listening, with a strong focus on oral communication. You will also improve your vocabulary and core grammar skills.

This programme includes several thematic workshops each week to help you progress faster. These workshops focus on a specific aspect of the language and are tailored to students needs and interests. You can choose to focus on phonetics, French grammar, French culture, prepare for the DELF/DALF exams, and more.

Term Breakdown

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is the standard used by language schools and universities to assess French language proficiency. It divides learning into 6 levels, from beginner (A1) to expert (C2), with each level marking a key milestone in your language journey.

A2 – Elementary
