What is DELF/DALF

The Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française (DELF) and Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française (DALF) exams are offered by the French Ministry of Education, designed for non-native speakers of French to assess their proficiency. The DELF consists of four levels (A1 to B2), while the DALF tests more advanced skills at levels C1 and C2.

Where to Take It

Authorized centers worldwide, including French Institutes, Alliance Française branches, and accredited language schools, offer these French exams. Early registration is recommended as spaces can fill quickly, especially for the more popular DELF and DALF exams.

How to Apply

To register, you’ll need to fill out an application form provided by the exam center. The required documents usually include:

  • A completed registration form (available on the exam center’s website or at their office)
  • A copy of your identification (passport or national ID)
  • A passport-sized photo (some centers may request this)
  • The exam registration fee

The registration fee varies depending on the level of the exam. Once you’ve submitted your application and paid the fee, the exam center will send you a confirmation.
